The Donts of Makeup

Don’t Buy Lots of Products:

When you are new to makeup, the last thing you want is to buy too many expensive products and then be miserable. Instead of buying the whole makeup section, start with the basics like mascara and lipstick. These two are the most basic items for makeup and you can gradually expand afterward. You need to perfectly balance the lipstick and mascara as lipsticks come in many shades and colors. After finessing these two products, you can go for other items such as concealer, eyeshadows, blushes, etc. The main thing is to start easy and then go for the big ones.

Don’t Apply Makeup to a Dirty Face

If your face is dirty from other cosmetics and dust, do not apply makeup to it. Applying makeup on a dirty face can give rise to several skin problems such as breakouts and acne, in the future.  If you have cosmetics applied on your face for hours, do not apply any kind of makeup over it, except for lipstick or lip gloss.

When it comes to applying foundation, powders, and other makeup items, be sure to clean your face first. Scrape off what you are currently wearing properly and give the pores of your face a chance to breathe before applying new products.

Don’t Use Dirty Brush:

Unless you schedule a time to clean your makeup brushes every week, it is very easy to neglect them. A dirty brush could contain bacteria and impurities that will come in direct contact with your skin. Always find time to wash your brush at least once a week.

To wash your brushes, take a bowl of warm water and add a few squirts of shampoo to it. Gently submerge and swirl your brushes in the shampoo water. You can remove the dried makeup on the brushes through your fingers. After that, rinse the brushes and dry them with a clean towel.

Don’t Overdo the Foundation:

Most people make the mistake of overusing a foundation that gives a caky look throughout the day. Undoubtedly, this is a major mistake that should be avoided on an immediate basis just not to get into an artificial look that looks so unreal, especially in photographs.

Don’t Use Sunscreen:

Sunscreen is the most important thing in your daily routine make-up, but not when you are taking bridal makeup. Because it creates a greasy texture all over your face which makes your skin sticky. So it’s better to use a light weighted moisturizer for a bright and natural look.

The Do’s of Makeup

Do a Signature Look:

If you are a beginner, do not take hours to apply makeup. Start with some simple signature looks to build your confidence. Do not go for an overly complicated look. Focus mainly on eyes, lips, and cheeks.

For your face, find the right foundation that matches your neck and chest. Apply mascara or eyeliner to define your eyes. Choose a lipstick that complements your skin tone. Apply blush to add some color to your cheeks.

Do Apply Concealer After Foundation:

A common rookie mistake is to apply concealer before foundation. A concealer is the best friend of a person having dark circles, redness, and minor blemishes. When you apply foundation first, it will even your skin tone. Applying concealer after that will ensure full coverage.

Do Use a Primer

A primer is applied under the makeup that creates a base for a smoother surface to apply the makeup. It also acts as a moisturizer underneath the makeup. They also make your makeup last longer. You can use face primer to go underneath your foundation. An eye shadow primer goes underneath the eyelids before applying the powdered shadow, which also prevents creasing.

Last but not least, various beauty services have their own benefits to justify. Whether you want it or not, it’s completely your call to take to change your look.
